Bernie
Wrobel exemplifies the spirit and qualities of leadership, determination
and true entrepreneurial vision. As a female pioneer in a male
dominated industry, Ms. Wrobel's tenacity has been tested many
times.
With her passion for quality service and expertise as an electrical
contractor, Bernie has managed to break through barriers and
build an award-winning Berks County business.
With an innate sense of organization and her desire to provide
a unified team of professional electricians, who could also enjoy
company incentives, this mother of three daughters, has created
a dynamic company that is family-oriented and innovative.
Bernie has 28 years of history with electrical contractors.
Her first experience was originally with Maginnis Electric, but
she credits her stint with Keystone Engineering as the company
that set her on a career path. They gave her an opportunity in
estimating. With her college background in math, crunching the
numbers and calculating costs came easily to Bernie. Within six
months, she was enrolled at Penn State University, Berks Campus
pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.
The on-the-job training soon launched her into major markets
where she became a recognizable force. In 1984, she joined Blanski,
Inc. as head estimator and electrical department manager.
By 1990 Bernie had received her degree and moved to Wilmer
Fisher to begin their electrical business. However, her entrepreneurial
spirit proved too strong and she struck out on her own in 1995,
forming Pagoda Electrical with two other partners. By 2000 she
became the sole owner and has seen the sales climb in excess
of $10 million with a work force of seventy (70) people.
In addition to embracing the family-spirit with her team of
employees, Bernie has found her own family members to be an asset
to the business. Her husband Don serves as the company's vice-president,
and daughter Kym provides assistance in all areas of the business.
Under the guidance of Bernie's knowledgeable leadership the
company has built a track record of trust with its clients. Now
the company is branching out with new marketing concepts to provide
even more services for clients and Bernie is also launching a
sister company with partners that will meet the needs of the
residential community for "smart houses."
